Submitting Guidelines

Send us short-fiction, poetry and non-fiction (which can include reviews, essays, memoirs, reporting, etc.)

Our content guidelines are simple, send us your best.  We've been around long enough for you to have a fairly good idea of what we like, though that shouldn't limit you.  As for the specifics of your submission: please be reasonable.  Don't send ten poems per submission, and don't send stories that are too far past 5000-6000 words, they simply don't translate online.

Please send Word compatible files.

Please send clean copy.  If we have to guess your meaning too much that hurts your chances.

Keep bios brief.  When we prepare galleys we will likely pare it down to a line or two anyway.

Once you've submitted a piece please wait until we contact you regarding our decision before submitting again.

Emprise Review holds the rights for two uses of selected works, one for the online magazine, and the other for any future print anthology.

Publishing

At this time Emprise Review is solely in the business of publishing the website.  We do not accept or consider manuscripts for potential publication, distribution and or sale.

Reviews

Emprise Review does accept published works such as chapbooks, novels and anthologies for review.

At this time we are short staffed in the review department so we must take on review projects carefully.  With that in mind please contact us first and clear any mailing of materials.  If you send something unsolicited there is no guarantee we will review it.  Considering the current economic state, you may want to save yourself the shipping and cost of the book.  We will though absolutely read and enjoy the work.

If you are a publisher or individual seeking contact information for review materials please contact Patrick McAllaster at pmcalla@gmail.com for a shipping address.
